26/05/22: Week Two of the Westway Summer Superleague played out this week and the action is beginning to hot up!

This year's competition features six teams - Aston House Thoroughbreds, Aston House Stampede, Newbury HA1, Westway Warriors, Emanuel Wanderers and Highgate - battle it out in a round robin format to decide the placings for the play-offs in a few weeks time.

Week Two featured the Aston House derby, with Riki Houlden dashing from the operating theatre to the Fives courts to fill in for a late Aston House Stampede injury (Saving Lives, Saving Fives...). Riki's presence proved crucial as he scored a maximum 45 points in a scintillating 3-3 draw, including an epic 15-14 win with Nathan Turnbull against Alex Abrahams & Noah Caplin for the Thoroughbreds in the blue riband match.

There was a second exciting 3-3 draw on Wednesday between the Westway Warriors and Newbury HA1, with two 15-14 thrillers in the final round of matches between two well-matched teams topping off the evening in fine style. Highgate were the week's other winners, moving a point clear at the top of the table and recordng the week's only maximum points win against the Emanuel Wanderers, who remain rooted to the bottom of the table.

The Aston House duo of Riki Houlden (Stampede) and Karen Hird (Thoroughbreds) and Highgate skipper Emily Scoones are the only three players to score a maximum 90 points in the first two weeks in the MVP race, while Riki is also leading the way in the Golden Gloves competition, with five winners hit into the hole so far, one ahead of Westway's Adam Field.
