02/06/22: Week Three of the Westway Summer Superleague took us to halfway through the group phase with everything still up for grabs.

This year's competition features six teams - Aston House Thoroughbreds, Aston House Stampede, Newbury HA1, Westway Warriors, Emanuel Wanderers and Highgate - battle it out in a round robin format to decide the placings for the play-offs in a few weeks time.

Week Three featured a first win in the competition for the Emanuel Wanderers, who won a thrilling match 4-2 against the Westway Warriors. taking the honours with 15-13 and 15-11 wins in the final round and with Toby Bush starring at number four in the order with a maximum points haul of 45. Elsewhere, the two Aston House teams both recorded wins, with the Thoroughbreds edging past previous league leaders Highgate 4-2 in a high quality contest thanks to strong top order performances from Alex Abrahams and Noah Caplin. Newbury HA1 came up against the in form Stampede, who once again lived up to their name with a 6-0 win, taking them to the top of the table as their odds on winning the competition shortened considerably.

Chief Stampeder Riki Houlden took sole control of the MVP race, as the only runner in the contest with three consecutive 45 point weeks; Adam Field of the Westway Warriors and the Thoroughbreds duo of Karen Hird and Noah Caplin are hot on his heels and also over the 100 mark. Riki and Adam are also leading the way in the Golden Gloves competition, with eight winners in the hole apiece, with the other contenders some way back and with plenty of work to do.
