Phil Lyndon reports:
26/04/23: Silverware was the order of the evening at Aldenham last night as trophies were awarded for the Ladder competition, 12-0 Cup and the Michael MacGeoch Pink Elephant Trophy.
Wily left hander Chris Austin was first placed in the club’s regular ladder tournament making it through 4 x 20-minute games without losing whilst Neil Margerison, Paul Kendall, James Oliver and Gideon Osen were proud winners of the 12-0 Cup…the first time that four players have shared the honour in one evening.
But the most prestigious silverware went to Graham Pulsford…
…The Michael MacGeoch Pink Elephant Trophy was awarded to club stalwart Graham last night following the news that his company, JPA Workspaces, has been awarded the prestigious King’s Award for Enterprise – Sustainable Development.
The King’s Award recognises outstanding achievements by UK businesses with JPA being one of only 15 companies n/nationally to receive a commendation in the Sustainable Development category.
Aldenham recognised JPA’s royal award with its own Michael MacGeoch Pink Elephant Trophy. The trophy was created in memory of Michael following his battle with cancer. Michael died in April 2022.
“We agreed with Michael and his wife Sushma that his cup would be awarded to club players for notable achievements, not necessarily related to fives. After discussion amongst club members and Sushma, we decided that Graham’s royal award seemed a perfect fit”, said club secretary Phil Lyndon.
Honorary President Martin Lindsay is pictured with Graham.
