Will Ellison enjoyed a productive trip north of border, doing the double at the Scottish Championships. After beating John Minta to win the singles championship, he partnered John Hawke to the doubles title, beating Neil Roberts and Loretto schoolboy Callum Brechin in the final.
In the semi-finals, Will Ellison had a comfortable win, while Gareth Price, conqueror of the tournament organizer in the previous round, eventually ran out of steam, losing in the third game to Dan.
The final was a contest of breathtaking skill, athleticism and commitment worthy of a n/national competition, with both Dan and Will playing superbly and so evenly matched that the outcome was in doubt until the very end. If there had been seats available, the spectators would surely have been perched on the edge of them! After three hugely entertaining games, Dan eventually overcame defending champion Will in the final. Meanwhile, Richie Murby defeated Tim Widdop in the plate final.
