This year’s tournament, featuring 20 players from Derby, Manchester, Halifax, Uppingham and Durham, ended in victory for the youngest pair yet, Mike Baxter and Jay Gravatt. For each it was his second victory in this competition, Mike having won it last year with Tim Widdop, and Jay having carried off the trophy in 2010 with Wayne Enstone.
Runners-up were Richard Christie and Bob Sandie, and the Third Place play-off was won by hard-hitting Jimmy Goodwin and Jonathan Lee, who beat Stuart Kirby and John Hawke. Paul McIntyre won the Plate for the second year in a row, playing with Anthony Goodwin. Next year will be the 10th anniversary of this premier event: commemorative T-shirts all round!
