John Reynolds reports:
05/11/21: We were delighted to play some fives last night with a player from Kano in northern Nigeria. Kabiru Ibrahim Indabawa (pictured in green) arrived in London yesterday and joined us for some 'soft' fives, ie with a tennis ball.
John Reynolds, Richard Tyler and several of those at the practice played a set or three with our visitor – and very much enjoyed learning the slightly different skills needed to play the 'soft' version of the game.
Eton fives is played enthusiastically in Nigeria, especially in the northern states, where it is always played with a tennis ball. There is a recently built court in Lagos, too.
Thanks to Kabiru for joining us, and to those who joined us on court.
