March 2014: Ian Davis has been delighted to accept the EFA's invitation to be the Association’s new Patron in succession to Lord Kingsdown who sadly died last November.
Ian was at Charterhouse in the 1960s from where he went on to read PPE at Balliol College Oxford. He played Eton Fives for the University, partnering Denys Firth, a pairing which was never beaten.
Ian subsequently joined McKinsey of which he became Chairman and Worldwide Managing Director from 2003 to 2009 when he retired from McKinsey. He is now Chairman of Rolls Royce Holdings plc. Ian also sits on the Boards of BP, Johnson & Johnson and the UK Cabinet Office. He was a founder of Teach First.
As current President of the Old Carthusian EFC, Ian has retained his love of Eton Fives and as EFA Patron he intends to be involved as much as his time will permit in the game and its future.
