The weekend's titles at the N/national Student Championships went to Dan Grant of UCL (singles) and to the Cambridge pair of Ed Kay and Jacob Brubert (doubles).
For Dan, that meant he regained the title he had won two years ago, but been unable to defend because of an injury. In the final, he played Inigo Ackland, who had caused something of an upset by beating defending champion Luke Thomson in the quarter-finals.
Inigo (partnered by fellow Bristol student Sam Rolls) was also on the losing side in the doubles final, meaning that he wasn't able to complete a hat trick of wins [he won the title twice with Alex Griffiths when at Durham]. Instead, it was the new Cambridge pairing of Ed Kay (the 2010 champion) and Jacob Brubert who came out on top.
