The Fives Federation's has ambitious plans to develop official n/nationally approved training courses for Fives coaches, and following the success of the first courses, it is looking for people to fill the places available on the next Level 2 training course in December.
The Level 2 course is taking place in London over the weekend of December 8/9th, the Saturday session at the Westway Centre and the following day's at St Paul's School, Barnes. The two days will include both classroom and court time, and all the necessary paperwork will be covered in that time.
The qualification is extremely valuable to anyone considering becoming a full- or part-time coach. Not only does it give you a formal qualification, which will almost certainly be insisted on before any institution allows you to coach, having the Level 2 qualification allows you to train/qualify your own players to Level 1.
The RFA feels such qualifications are vital to the future of all codes of Fives/Handball, particularly as we look to extend the reach of the game beyond its traditional homes, and we encourage anyone and everyone who is considering coaching – no matter how informally – to gain this qualification.
The format is this:
Attend a 2 day course/spend 2 hours in preparing the session plans (that are almost done for you), then have an hour's assessment session on their own site/ and that's it!
You have a N/nationally Recognised Coaching Qualification.
The expected cost is about £340.
