05/10/21: The 2021/22 Alan Barber Cup is up and running and the Barbarians team made history at Eton on Sunday with their first ever win in the competition.

The Barbarians team is made up of players who went to non Fives-playing schools and having tasted defeat in their first two matches last season and the season before, the team of Ryan Perrie, Karen Hird, Adam Field, Steve Kaaber-Gore, Joey Prior and Chris Lumbard made it hird time lucky, recording a convincing win over the Old Aldenhamians. With the likes of Noah Caplin and Gwydion Wiseman also available, the Barbarians are fast becoming a force to be reckoned with.

They will have their work cut out in the quarter-finals, however, as they will be taking on second seeds the Old Westminsters, who had a comfortable win at Mill Hill last week against the Old Ipswichians. The third team already into the last eight are Lancing, who saw off the challenge of John Reynolds and his Old Citizens at Highgate on Monday night.
