Anne Rimer presents the cheque to EFA Patron Lord Kingsdown and EFCT Chairman Richard Black
Mike Fenn reports:
Anne Rimer joined the recent Fives gathering at Torry Hill to enjoy another most memorable day generously hosted by EFA Patron Lord Kingsdown and his family. At lunch Anne presented a cheque to Lord Kingsdown for £10,000 - a legacy from her late husband John Rimer. This magnificent gesture comes at a time when the Eton Fives Charitable Trust can expect to receive further requests for grants.
Anne commented \"Playing Fives was John's favourite sport. He loved everything about the game, and especially the great friends he made because of it. It was a very important part of his life - he took up the game when at Aldenham School and continued until the sad moment came when he was about 55 and he had to stop playing.
However John was able to continue his support through his involvement with th Eton Fives Charitable Trust and to keep in touch by attending lovely events such as wonderful days at Torry Hill and lively annual dinners.
Fives gave John a lot during his lifetime and now I am passing on his bequest to you which we know will be put to good use.\"
