22/11/17: Following on from the recent successful free summer holiday and half-term Fives and wallball sessions for local children at the Westway Sports Centre, the EFA are delighted to announce that the Children & Young People Funders’ Coalition for work with children and families affected by the Grenfell fire have confirmed a further grant of £4000 from the City Bridge Trust.
This money will be used to provide similar free Fives and wallball sessions for local children, led by Westway Fives manager Dan Pritchard and his team of coaches, through until July 2018, as the Westway Fives and wallball team continue to make a contribution to the ongoing efforts to help rebuild the local community after last June's tragic fire.
In a separate development, Sport England have confirmed that the EFA have been successful in their bid to obtain a second £10,000 grant towards running the Westway Fives programme for another year, which will enable Dan and his team to continue with the great work they have been doing in increasing footfall on the Westway courts and taking Fives and wallball out to a whole new audience.
