23/11/16: Fives development at Westway
The EFA, in collaboration with UK Wallball, is in charge of delivering an ambitious programme of developing Eton Fives and Wallball at the Centre. This programme is funded by John Lyon’s Charity and Sport England.
Outreach targets include:
• Schools in local boroughs
• University Fives ( especially the new Imperial College facility)
• Youth Clubs
• Disabled people
• Over 45s
• Family Fives
• Women’s Fives
• Ethnic Minorities
• Medically referred patients e.g. type 2 diabetics
The only way that such an ambitious programme can be achieved is by having dedicated outreach and coaching staff at the centre, which has the only publicly-owned Fives courts in the UK. It will build on the success of the local Westway club and the popular twice weekly Pay and Play sessions.
We have made substantial progress in 2016 with the appointment of a full-time coach/manager and an assistant part-time coach.
The EFA now needs to recruit an additional part-time Assistant Coach on a freelance basis to take some of the extra coaching sessions.
The successful candidate will report to the EFA Board.
Job description and person specification for this position can be obtained by contacting or Gareth Hoskins, EFA Secretary, on 07833 600230 or garethjhoskins@yahoo.co.uk or Richard Black, EFA Chairman on 07715 179280 or richardblack555@btinternet.com.
